  Breech dropped to load cartridge. Breech closed with hammer at full cock. Barrel stamp between rear sight and barrel band. Stamping is quite worn from holding the carbine at Port Arms or with a two handed hold. When doing so, the left thumb rides on the stamping and slides across it when the carbine is raised into a firing position. I wonder how many times this little carbine was brought to the shoulder in order to show so much wear.
